Engineering, development and implementation of a complex multimedia system for trains of the Kyiv subway (development of anti-vandal cases, selection and configuration of equipment, software, etc.) for «Trans Media» LLC.
The task
Creation of an all-purpose multimedia passenger information system regarding routes, stops, as well as providing useful information for Kyiv citizens and visitors.
Creating and engineering of a pilot project of an information video system in the carriages of PUC «Kiev Metro».

Project description
During the first meetings with the customer we formed a general concept of the video information system in the carriages of Kyiv subway. A multilevel structure of various types of information exchange (multimedia, text messages, service information) was developed along with the concept of information exchange between the railway vehicles and the central server. After the proposed solutions were approved, we did the following:
-  developed the project documentation for modernization of the subway carriages infrastructure;
- designed the project of anti-vandal cases for equipment installation;
- selected and assembled special elements of the video information system;
- fully prepared and set into operation a test-train;
- established data exchange with a test hot spot.
The solution concept consisted of creation of autonomous systems of each separate carriage as part of the computer with lined up software, video signal transmission system, monitors, active network equipment and integration with the existing audio system of the carriage. The audio record integrated DTMF-standard sound tags were used to manage the system.
Bridge mode wireless points were used to exchange data between the neighboring carriages. The connection between neighboring hot points was created using encryption tools implemented directly by the equipment network. Thus, a reliable and secure way of data transfer between individual carriers was created. In addition, network equipment installed in carriages allows, granting access points are installed at stations and connected via a backbone network, to transmit data to the central server and receive data back from it. For example, it can be changes in the schedule of videos display, transfer of new videos, transfer of specialized information packets, system settings and the volume of system logs for a selected period of time.
The developed system was built upon fairly standard elements, but the use of specialized settings and software that was created to perform specialized tasks, allowed creating a unique system of generating, exchange and use of data in railway vehicles conditions.
